Christa Escobar M.S., CCC-SLP

Christa is an ASHA certified speech-language pathologist who has been working at Albemarle Therapy Center since 2007. She received her Master’s degree from University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2004. Christa’s experience includes providing speech-language services in public schools serving elementary aged children, early intervention services for infants and toddlers and their families, and clinic-based services to preschool and school aged children. She has worked with children who present with a variety of needs to include autism and sensory processing disorders, apraxia, fluency, feeding/oral motor difficulties, expressive/receptive language delays, and articulation disorders. She is bilingual (Spanish and English) and appreciates the opportunity to build relationships with children and their families through Early Intervention services. Christa is trained in PROMPT, PECS, the Debra Beckman Oral Motor Protocol, as well as well as attending a training held by Lori Overland in Oral Motor Placement and feeding therapies through TalkTools company. In addition, she holds certification from the Virginia Early Intervention program. Christa sees clients in the Charlottesville location and in-home through Early Intervention.
